A History of Sharing |
Mail Print’s devotion to helping the community dates back to Grandma Vollmer, who passed her values down to the Danners, who in turn have instilled these beliefs in their daily operation.
Several times a week, Grandma Vollmer would take her eggs to market, walking by the local convent on her way. Some days, Grandma Vollmer would stop at the convent on her way home from market and donate the unsold eggs to the nuns. Other days, she stopped at the convent first, giving the nuns as many eggs as they needed before heading to market. Before long, Grandma Vollmer saw a pattern. Anytime she focused on giving first, she always ended up selling more eggs in the end. From then on, the convent was always her first stop.
While Grandma Vollmer was never named a top businesswomen and never lined her pockets with money, she knew how to make a difference in her community. We approach business in the same way, thinking of others before ourselves, specifically the children and poor of the community.
